Socially paid trips by bicycle taxi

Purpose and goal:

During the project, questions regarding insurance of how a bicycle transport can be insured in the same way as a transport with a car, has been investigated and answered.

Because the awareness and acceptance of bicycle taxis has been low, the purpose has not been to put exact figures on the potential but rather to see if there are suitable target groups and routes where a bicycle taxi for medical and care travel would work and match against vehicle models. We have encountered different ambitions, opportunities and obstacles for three different actors in southeast Sweden.

Expected results and effects:

The level of knowledge and acceptance was lower than expected, which meant that Energikontor Sydost initially worked to increase knowledge among actors in the region. We collaborated with three actors to gain a broader understanding of the target group and the conditions. This resulted in that two of three actors were interested in working further with bicycle taxi solutions after the end of this project.

Through the final webbinar, Energikontor Sydost disseminated knowledge and inspiration about a new and slightly different mode of transport- bicycle taxi for socially paid trips. Approach and implementation:

Implementation has been successful without major deviations from the plan. The project has been adjusted according to the three collaborating partners situations.

If the project from the beginning had focused on collaboration with one specific actor, we would probably have been more ready for an implementation. However, this would have meant a narrower knowledge base that would have been relevant for fewer organisations. Results are presented in the final report.
