Mobility hubs at service and trade nodes

Purpose and goal:

In order to contribute towards more sustainable mobility solutions, the project has set up three goals; 1) increase insights on the prerequisites for the establishment of mobility hubs in urban periphery 2) through service design involve citizens and mobility actors in the development and 3) provide solutions for implementation.

All goals have been met. Today there are good insights on the prerequisites for establishing hubs, not least through the involvement of citizens and mobility actors. The service design has been crucial to provide solutions for implementation. Expected results and effects:

The result of the work has been increased insights on the establishment of mobility hubs in peripheral urban areas. From end costumers needs, the project knows that specific areas have different prerequisites. Also, a clearer insight on effects on concerned stakeholder, and the necessary regulation between them, has been made.

From the insights, a resulted solution has been developed for each area. The effect of the solutions is expected to be the foundation for future implementation. Mobility hubs are in turn expected to have a sustainable effect on local travels. Approach and implementation:

The project has utilized interviews, work meetings and workshops, as well as a design process. Interview has been used primarily to understand the roles of different stakeholder in the establishment of mobility hubs. Work meeting and workshops has been used as a forum for continuous dialogue and check-up on progress. The design process has been user-experience based and executed according to SKR’s innovation guide. The latter has been the foundation for the project’s solutions

The analysis, that generated the results, is a consolidation of the insights from all methods.
