Purpose and goal:
The project has reduced climate impact, increased positive health effects and equality and gender equality effects as well as reduced travel costs for the Swedish Sports Confederation, the Swedish Equestrian Federation, the Swedish Orienteering Federation and the Swedish Handball Federation as well as at the 9 participating associations. Carbon dioxide emissions were reduced by a total of 34% or 17% annually for the participating federations.
The use of health-promoting means of transport has more than doubled and a plan for scaling up to the entire sports movement has been drawn up. Expected results and effects: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
The method chosen, the CERO method, has led to the targets regarding emission reductions and increased use of health-promoting means of transport being reached. The method has been evaluated during the project and the successful parts have been included in the plan for scaling up. The project has developed policies for the participating organizations that have contributed to changing the behavior and working methods of employees and members.
The project has increased the conditions for the sports movement to reduce CO2 emissions from its transports. Approach and implementation:
The project started with data collection of travel habits. The data was analyzed and each organization created an internal action plan for emission reductions. The action plans contained a total of 168 measures.
Collaboration was established with the relevant municipalities and public transport administrations to strengthen the implementation of the measures. Common guidelines, common public information material and a competition were developed and used by all participants. The impact of the travel habits was analyzed and a plan for scaling up was drawn up.
