Quantification of uncertainties for stormwater calculations of pollution, reduction, flowand detention

Purpose and goal:

The goal of developing a reviewed methodology for quantifying uncertainty for stormwater calculations has been met, as well as implementation in the StormTac Web-model for international spreading. The goal to compile and compare methods for calculating required treatment to achieve good status in e.g. watercourses and lakes is also fulfilled, something that has been requested internationally.

The latter has been reported in a submitted manuscript for review and the methods are implemented in StormTac Web ready to be used in the municipalities´ action plans. Expected results and effects:

The project resulted in the development of new methods for calculating uncertainties in stormwater calculations. The expectation to be able to report uncertainties in calculations in StormTac Web and similar models has been fulfilled. The project also inventoried alternative methods for calculating required treatment load for surface water recipients, which were implemented in StormTac Web.

Expected effects were to produce methods and compare results, for continued evaluation in the municipalities´ action work via implementation in StormTac Web, which has been carried out. Approach and implementation:

In collaboration with LTU, StormTac has, via literature studies, developed methods for quantifying uncertainty in stormwater calculations, which StormTac implemented in the StormTac Web-model. Data was also inventoried and entered into StormTac´s database, which was updated into a Web application. StormTac also carried out literature studies and developed methods for calculating required treatment for surface water recipients.

Discussions with and review of the Water Authority and relevant municipalities were carried out. The results were published in articles.
