Purpose and goal:
Together with partners Abalonyx (NO) and RDC (IT), Graphmatech are working on the development of conductive rubber compounds based on high-quality European rGO.
This 24-month long project will focus on developing conductive masterbatches for rubber compounds by using reduced graphene oxide (rGO). Abalonyx is developing high-quality, high-conductive, grades of rGO. Graphmatech will modify the rGO to develop the Aros Graphene®, a hybrid graphene material in which rGO agglomeration is reduced. This will then be introduced into rubber masterbatches developed by RDC.
Expected results and effects: This project has for aim to : - Secure production High quality European rGO - Development of cost efficient and sustainable rGO production method - Pristine rGO modification by using Aros Graphene technology - Introduce this high quality graphene into elastomeric matrices do supply High conductive compounds
Approach and implementation: 1) Specification completed and ratified by all partners 2) Optimal rGO and method of dispersion/ production 3) Optimal Aros Graphene grades selected for scale-up 4) Production of conductive masterbatches 5) Lab test confirming high conductivity masterbatch achieved 6) MSDS for graphene masterbatch
7) Successful Scaled up automated rGO reactor 8) Successful scaled up automated process for GO modification to optimal rGO verified 9) Successful scaled up automated process for production of rGO-Aros composite masterbatch verified 10) Confirmation of DECOrGO business plan
