Knowledge Portal for life science

Purpose and goal:

In order for entrepreneurs and start-up companies to be able to develop their business ideas, many different skills are required and it can be difficult for a founding team to see all areas such as regulatory requirements, health economics/reimbursement systems, that are needed to build an attractive product. The goal of the project was to produce web-based knowledge transfer materials of relevance to academic innovators and entrepreneurs, start-up and growth companies as well as more established companies in life sciences.

Expected results and effects:

The project has delivered over 70 digital modules that are made available through a digital web portal. The modules cover a range of different areas such as IP, regulatory requirements, drug development and equality / equality. Over 300 users have registered to use the platform and registered for one or more modules. This has resulted in increased insights among entrepreneurs and start-up companies, which in the long run means that they are better equipped for continued business development.

Approach and implementation:

The project´s steering group with members from both ‘innovationskontor’ and life science incubators determined the focus areas for the project, based on the needs they saw in entrepreneurs and start-up companies they worked with. The steering group also contributed to identifying possible suppliers of the digital modules which were then procured by the project management.

The steering group has met 4 times per year throughout the course of the project. The digital platform itself is paid for by ALIS, which also ensures continued management after the end of the project.
