Grant Description

Purpose and goal: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **

The project concerns an overhaul and optimization of an instrument for the detection of ovarian cancer and includes sensor characterization, calibration, GC/MS testing and testing of ovarian cancer samples. During the course of the project, we re-prioritised the development of the detection algorithm in favor of calibration and GC/MS testing. We await the results from the measurement of the cancer samples. Based on completed measurements, we have achieved acceptable results.

Expected results and effects: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **

We detect 95% of cancer samples and 80% of control samples based on completed measurements and calculations from raw data. Assuming we achieve this with 20 ovarian cancer samples, we achieve a GO decision to continue the project. Approach and implementation: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **

We have followed the plan presented in work package 1 and developed a new detection algorithm using Matlab through an iterative process. The work has been carried out by Jens Eriksson at LiU in close collaboration with Jan Erik Hedborg and Claes Post.
