Innovation accelerators, bridge project

Purpose and goal:

The aim of the project was to make better use of the knowledge and experience available in healthcare to improve collaboration to strengthen the sector´s role as an accelerator for the development of new methods and products. The project has been a "bridge" between previous project within Innovation Accelerators and a desired future effort, with continued focus on culture, working methods and clear collaboration models.

Through joint exchanges of experience, we have together reflected on lessons learned and approaches. Expected results and effects:

Västerbotten has succeeded in spreading, transfer of skills and continued anchoring regarding innovation work in everyday care. VGR has achieved its performance indicators, by applying the I- accelerator model in a second pilot, new knowledge and experience have been generated. Östergötland has identified a need to develop an innovation management system to meet the innovations that employees and suppliers develop.

Insights in Uppsala are that common processes for business cooperation are missing and that the tasks of the support functions are unclear for the care operations. Approach and implementation:

The project was carried out as rather separate parts with a project in each participating region. The cohesive part consisted of regular exchanges of experience - but these also generated bilateral meetings between the regionally driven sub-projects. One lesson is that the benefit of running this as a joint project vis-à-vis Vinnova is not so great and the plan is to return to regionally driven, strongly anchored project, but with a joint steering group and joint communication activities and exchanges, cohesive by Swedish Medtech.
