What can Sweden learn from ”Nye Veier”?

Purpose and goal:

The present project aims to take a larger perspective than just looking at contracting forms but instead new find new organizational forms to promote innovations in the construction sector. This study focuses on whether the Norwegian Nye Veier is something for Sweden. Expected results and effects:

The study shows that Nye Veier have reduced costs and completed road projects ealier than projected in certain projects, but the great advantage lies in the fact that the organization has challenged prevailing building standards and processes. This has pushed Statens Vegvesen and Bane NOR to do the same. This change has is great potential for future efficiency in the market.

Approach and implementation:

The study is primarily based on document studies and an in-depth interview with former employees at Nye Veier, entrepreneurs, politicians and the Ministry of Transport and Communications. In addition, workshops have been conducted with Swedish representatives. The project has resulted in a paper and new project to implement the results in Sweden.
