Purpose and goal:
The defense and financial sectors have communicated via channels that cannot be intercepted by unauthorized persons. Today´s cryptographic protocols use RSA. The security of these methods lies in the difficulty of solving mathematical problems which will remain difficult to solve in the future is uncertain due to increased computing power.
Unlike today´s methods, the security of quantum cryptography is guaranteed by the laws of nature. In this project, quCertify will develop and commercialize both secure quantum communication and quantum random number generation. Expected results and effects:
Through the course of the project, we have developed quantum innovation towards the commercialization of quantum technology. We have done this by: developing and validating secure quantum communication and quantum random number generation, applied for EU calls and have ongoing discussions with private investors regarding follow-on funding.
Approach and implementation:
1. Conduct R&D and establish collaborations with leading research groups at universities and research institutes. 2. Define system requirements and architecture for next generation secure quantum communication. 3. Identification of the target market and PR. 4. Attraction of funding from private investors and commercial partners.
