A number of challenges prior to a transition to emission-free maintenance contracts have been identified and analyzed and have been addressed in the value chain of various actors. Three different scenarios for conversion to hydrogen-powered heavy trucks in maintenance contracts have been presented and analyzed based on several aspects. The optimal scenario has been identified and recommended.

The study is based on information obtained mainly through literature studies and interviews with industry representatives. Contractors and road managers were interviewed to get an idea of how road maintenance works today and how agreements and compensation work, as well as what opportunities or obstacles they see before switching to emission-free contracts.

Representatives of the automotive industry were asked about, among other things, introductory plans for hydrogen-powered vehicles, which technical solutions they have chosen.
