Purpose and goal:
The prehospital care needs to be flexible to meet future demographic changes, economic challenges and take advantage of technological advances. To make difficult decisions, objective and relevant decision basis are needed, so that resources can be used efficiently and fairly.
The project has developed commercial data-driven decision support systems for prehospital care, which can be used on both a strategic and operational level and which has the potential to strengthen Swedish and international ambulance care. Expected results and effects:
We have developed Vega and Capella, which have the potential to significantly strengthen Swedish and international prehospital care. We predict that the majority of Sweden´s regions will use Capella and Vega by 2026.
For the tools to reach their potential, the regions´ analytical skills need to be strengthened, therefore the tools will be supplemented with several support efforts, including arenas for development, implementation support, training efforts and by offering different types of consulting services. Approach and implementation:
When we have developed the decision-making tools, we have worked in parallel to define the needs of the regions, develop a technical solution and develop a long-term business solution. It has been important to derive examples that show how the tools can be used to solve real world problems.
Communication with the goal of disseminating information about the project and the tools to the ambulance service in Sweden has been another priority area.
