Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

Mälardalen University has emerged as a frontrunner in the AI race and has already initiated projects like ARTIMATION, which involves the practical implementation of XAI. In order to further enhance the capabilities of researchers in this emerging domain of XAI, this collaboration is highly advantageous.

This aligns with the university´s strategy of co-production and contributes to the university´s international recognition for its AI-related endeavours. It strengthens research and educational competence in XAI and promotes collaboration between Sweden and the USA. Expected results and effects:

Etablera samarbete genom att arbeta inom området förklarlig AI, samarbeta i projektet Artimation, skriva gemensamma publikationer, redigera tidskriftsspecialnummer och en doktorandkurs. Approach and implementation: Vi har framgångsrikt genomfört: -Genomföra gemensam forskning inom tillämpad AI.

-Förbereda en prototyp för tillämpningar inom Air trafikledning. -1 workshop-papper till augusti 2022.

-Prof. Weber bidrar till undervisningsaktiviteter genom att granska doktorandkursen och stödja handledningen av en doktorand vid MDU. -Genomföra utvärderingar för att undersöka prestandan hos prototypen. -Förbereda en ansökan om att publicera en vetenskaplig artikel. -Planerar att ansöka om forskningsfinansiering inom AI.
