Purpose and goal:
This project aims at providing a novel solution to protect CMC components with Environmental Barriers Coatings (EBC), using emerging thermal spraying technologies
The project´s goal is to explore new coating technologies for producing prime reliant EBCs with high crystallinity, minimum porosity and industrially acceptable throughput Expected results and effects:
Despite the presence of important aerospace industries in Sweden, efforts aimed at developing CMC components have been conspicuously limited. Therefore, it is expected that the outcomes of the project will be of highest benefit for the Swedish industry in a field of highest actuality and interest for the transportation industry and society i.e. lighter vehicles and reduced green-house emissions
Approach and implementation: The project activities are divided in eight interconnected work-packages and designed to allow
iterative tasks. The work-packages include, along with experimental activities, tasks such as planning activities, and dissemination of results. All partners are involved in both performing the project tasks and coordinating various work-packages. The project partners contribute with complementary expertise by covering the entire value chain. The project genuinely integrates a diversity of partners e.g. SMEs & large companies, Swedish & foreign partners, men and women.
