Purpose and goal:
The "Action Lab" project developed a methodology integrating learning in higher education with lifelong learning in professional life. The method, tested in the field of strategic purchasing, combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience through experimental learning. Action Lab facilitates cross-generational learning, where students, academics, and professionals learn together, strengthening education and helping to reduce the gap between competence needs and educational content.
Expected results and effects:
The project enhanced the Action Lab (AL) methodology through testing in purchasing, circularity, and service development. AL was established as a collaboration platform for lifelong learning between universities and industry. New capabilities in strategic purchasing were identified, such as understanding complex supply networks, and these were integrated into master level courses. AL has the potential to renew educational collaboration and work integrated learning at universities.
Approach and implementation:
The Action Lab (AL) methodology and its components have been developed through testing in "living labs" by several joint educational activities for students, academics and professionals. The choice of focus for AL has been based on criteria important for intergenerational learning. Support from experts and participation in international learning conferences have also contributed to the method. For better dissemination and information, a logo and a digital information material have been created.
