Purpose and goal:
The mobility project Green Innovation has contributed to increased understanding and knowledge of Green Design, which here is the term for achieving green and sustainable investments of factories and production equipment. Green Design is today a comprehensive methodology at AstraZeneca, continuously developed by a special team which is led by the expert of this exchange project.
It has also resulted in a new Vinnova research project with several academic and industrial partners, several master theses, publications and presentations at conferences. Expected results and effects:
Investing green is a really important measure to change production operations to become climate neutral and more sustainable, and to introduce a circular thinking also for machines, equipment and factory infrastructure. The mobility project has contributed to putting the issue on the agenda and contributed to new insights and in-depth knowledge of how to realize "Green Design" when investing in a factory.
The exchange has contributed to concrete results in the form of a new methodology package at AstraZeneca, a team working with the task, and deepened collaboration with KTH. Approach and implementation:
Green Innovation is a mobility project where an expert in the Engineering organization at AstraZeneca in Södertälje has worked with KTH´s research group within Production Management. The exchange has involved close collaboration with preparation and implementation of joint master degree projects, preparation of project application for a new research project (granted), joint research paper published and presented in Trondheim, subject-related discussions, and joint conference presentations, including collaboration with the Governmental Delegation for Circular Economy.
