Purpose and goal:
The project has succeeded in its aim to create a greater understanding of how artistic methods of creation and creativity can be used in practice by industrial innovation teams to increase innovation capacity. Expected results and effects: The project has resulted in:
A growing network of practitioners, artists and researchers with a common interest in continuing to develop knowledge and understanding of the interplay between artistic creation and innovation capability
New practical knowledge how artistic methods of creation and creativity can be used by industrial innovation Proposal for research funds (from the network ) from the KK Foundation submitted. Proposal for project funds (submitted no later than the end of January) from Nordplus (Nordic Council of Ministers).
Approach and implementation:
In retrospect, the setup was a bit too mechanistic. It was challenging to separate the activities "read, talk, design, test, evaluate". There is something elusive in the artistic practice, one needs to get closer to understand in depth.
However, the project created a network that is now active, developed the basics of a useful model, identified a number of non-trivial distinctions between an artistic versus an engineering approach. Overall a fine experience that both creates new things and opens exciting doors for the future ahead.
