Purpose and goal: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
The project aims at developing principles for primary calibration of torque sensors under rotating conditions, which is not possible today. Through this, among other things, the efficiency of rotating machines (motors, gearboxes, generators, etc.) will be able to be determined with high accuracy and good reproducibility. This in turn will enable the development of more efficient rotating machines and better utilization of available energy.
Expected results and effects: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The results are - development of a first version of primary system for calibration of static torque under rotating conditions
- evaluation and quality assurance by comparison with the alternative methods that hopefully are available at the end of the project. - evaluate the possibilities to scale up the system for higher torques and needs, higher bandwidth. - disseminate results through international conferences, national and international workshops and more.
Approach and implementation:
Phase 1 (M1 - M5), literature studies on completed work in both rotating parts as well as studies on suitable constructions of electrical machines as well as an inventory of eligibility requirements from users. Based on this work, a suitable area will be selected for the next step
- Phase 2 (M5 - M18), development and construction of calibration rig for rotating torques including mounting options for calibration objects.
- Phase 3 (M19 - M30), evaluation of performance including comparisons with theoretical models, alternative methods and comparison with PTB and any other NMIs.
