Purpose and goal:
The final goal of IPV4Europe is to advance the market boundaries of the European IPV sector, by bringing novel or improved products close to market through a multitude of affiliated solar technology producers. The aim also covers the production line automations and other advancements in the manufacturing process of the technology partners in order to deliver an increased supply of multi-application products with increased flexibility in terms of customer requirements. The availability of affordable IPV products will be significantly increased all around Europe.
Expected results and effects:
IPV4Europe´s impact ambition lies in the increased production capacity among the 5 IPV manufacturers (existing or transitioning) linked to the project. Among these 5 an IPV production increase of around 300 MW/year will be introduced along the project run time. This production increase aligns with the goals of the ‘European Solar Initiative (ESI)’ in having 20 GW yearly PV production capacity in Europe.
Furthermore, impacts will be delivered for broadening the application field of IPV technologies, supporting the renovation wave, and the construction of positive energy buildings. Approach and implementation:
IPV4Europe has 9 inter-related Work Packages (WPs) over 4-years, supporting the key objectives. Project management activities are planned in WP1. Product development for increased customer value and advanced manufacturability is considered in WP2.
WP3-5 are concerned with the design of Industry 4.0 IPV and IPVT manufacturing lines for the various industrial cases. WP6 covers the construction, commissioning, and operation of the production lines. While WP7-9 inspects the delivered impacts, assesses the market to build a business strategy, and communicates the project results.
