Purpose and goal:
Projektet CIRCLA brings together partners from several industries to tackle the complex challenge of sustainable system transformation and the shift to climate-neutral and circular production with resource-efficient and resilient value chains. CIRCLA will work as a platform to drive development where innovation can create national and international competitiveness by exporting concepts for circular economy and thereby contribute to a social and cultural sustainable industry. Through mutual learning between industries, the results are spread far beyond the project.
Expected results and effects:
The focus of the project is traceability for sustainable value chains, based on the premise that Swedish industry is global and embedded in global value chains. Long termt goals are that more companies and consumers choose products that are ´sustainably´ produced and that the range of such products increases. Experiences of how to work to create value through traceability inspires development in other countries and the project has contributed to showing how competitiveness is strengthened globally thanks to the work with traceability and information sharing.
Approach and implementation:
The project is a joint initiative through five strategic innovation programs together with the delegation for circular economy that will work actively with the dissemination of the project´s results and also for internationalization and an expansion of the project. Work packages focus on solutions for specific companies and industries but at the same time address general challenges within traceability, something that can be applied more generally in several sectors. The project will be an open arena for sharing and discussing challenges and solutions.
