Purpose and goal:
The goal was to be able to offer a system solution that could function as support in the development of sustainable water management in cities. Due to the fact that different cities make different technical choices, the system solution has been developed based on a prototype approach where the platform´s flexibility could be used to visualize different benefits with a more data-driven way of working.
In doing so, we have contributed to developing the organizations´ ability to make demands on new technical solutions and issues for a long-term sustainable handling of sensor data. Expected results and effects:
The project has given us the opportunity to study how IoT platforms can function as decision support and what is required for implementation and upscaling. All participating organizations have taken clear steps in technical and organizational maturity, where this project was an important catalyst in that work. Confidence in IoT and the development of system services has increased, and the creation of networks with other municipalities and VA companies has meant that several interesting tracks for further development and future cooperation have been identified.
Approach and implementation:
The main difficulty in implementing the project has been organizational. Partly to work with the need owners to be able to work more data-driven, which involved larger parts of the organization than those in the project group, as well as loss of competence in the project group. The implementation of the project has also been influenced by other initiatives within Sweden and at the EU level.
This has clarified the project´s role as a prototype project that has demonstrated benefits which could serve as input to the VA organisations´ future requirements.
