I have most recently discovered a unique material that is 1D in nature and exhibits a microstructure that resemble the mycelium (root system) in fungi with filaments that are less than 1 nm in diameter.
I will explore this new material, tailor its surface chemistry and develop it for applications in catalysis and carbon capture.
In theory, it exhibits a superior surface area, low weight and unparalleled permeability rendering its application performance as potentially pioneering.
To accentuate its novelty, it has been synthesized in a simple bottom-up approach, from inexpensive ingredients that are available for industrial scale synthesis.
