Development, production and testing of a large drone for globally unique unmanned flying firefighting

Purpose and goal:

The purpose of the project has been achieved. During the project, we have developed and further developed the method for fire fighting. You can see more here: https://www.accinnovation.se/news/uas-forum-2022

This method uses different types of drones and ground-based terrain robots. Smaller, fast-flying drones for surveillance, coordination and command. A ground-based fire fighting robot. And a large drone (ThunderWasp) for aerial extinguishing. During the development of the method, stakeholders have been informed and taken part in the process.

Expected results and effects:

The result is a new firefighting concept in the form of a containerized, mobile system that contains many of the necessary components for firefighting. The result has led to new business opportunities in the form of offers to several different countries.

The outcome and effects are that the quotes lead to new business, which in turn leads to reduced emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, which is in line with the purpose of the project. Approach and implementation:

During the concept stage, the project grew into a new complete solution. The goal from the beginning was to produce a quadcopter, but during the course of the project it developed into something more extensive and useful. During the course of the project, we learned that the concept works. Due to material shortages and long lead times, a lot of work was done in parallel on the development and testing of the new concept.

In other words, we know that the goal is achieved with the solution we have, but due to the current circumstances, a more complete firefighting system has been designed instead.
