IFF - Iron For the Future

Purpose and goal:

REACH is an Silicon Valley-based incubator program designed to strengthen Nordic research-based technology projects and spin-outs with international ambitions and potential. The participation of IFF - Iron for the future in the REACH programs is helping to lay the foundations for developing a strong business case that suits the US market.

Expected results and effects:

Thanks to the connections made during the participation of IFF in the REACH program we are currently preparing for a pre-seed/seed investment for Ironic AB, the spin-out from the IFF project. Ironic AB is discussing with partners and investors from the Nordics and the USA. This wouldn’t have been possible without the REACH Silico Valley program.

Approach and implementation:

The REACH program was implemented in the form of a 6 months vertical mentoring and two 14-day acceleration parts: Part I) 4 - 16 October 2021 and Part II) 2 - 9 April 2022. In Part I, all the teams participating in the program received support in learning platforms and orientations together. This first part was very helpful in bringing the groups together so we can share and help each other with the common struggles that come with starting a business from research.
