Qualification database

The goal of the project, to produce a first version of a qualifications database that both manages qualifications and the components that the qualifications consist of, as well as creating conditions for integrating this with relevant parties/systems, has been fulfilled.

Whether the purpose of the qualification database is fulfilled - i.a. that this will be an effective support in validation, matching and guidance, but also for education providers and benefit the individual in the labor market and companies´ skills supply - remains to be seen. Expected results and effects:

The project has fulfilled the results described in the project plan, i.e. produced an architecture for the database, developed a first version containing MYH level-decided qualifications and qualifications from vocational education. Service developers and innovators in the field can now use data from the qualifications database to build efficient and socially useful services that support individuals´ lifelong learning and the supply of skills for working life.

The work in the project has been pronounced iteratively with small steps towards a clear target picture. There are still many areas to work on, e.g. occupational classification according to SSYK of vocational education qualifications. By accepting that the whole target picture is not possible to achieve immediately, some first steps have been able to be taken and delivered during this project.

With the concrete work, many issues connecting the area of competence provision and lifelong learning have become visible.
