Switch to Sweden

Purpose and goal:

The project aims to build concepts around the supply of skills with a focus on getting more international students and researchers to stay and work in Sweden after completing their education. It is also about creating a concept for soft-transit, when talents are in Sweden for shorter periods in order to fertilize companies with cutting-edge expertise to drive the innovation ability in Swedish companies.

This is primarily a capacity-building project. The goal is to increase Sweden´s competitiveness and attractiveness and strengthen Swedish employers with new talents. Expected results and effects:

Through Switch to Sweden, we want to develop concepts for more international talent to stay in Sweden, by this we want to support companies with their skills supply and increase their competitiveness. In parallel, we want to increase knowledge among both companies and individuals about international recruitment. A concept for soft-transit, where international competence fertilizes Swedish organizations with cutting-edge competence to drive innovation ability in Swedish companies, will be developed.

Approach and implementation:

The project is led by Linköping Science Park, which will allocate the resources required for implementation. Initially, we will carry out needs analyzes with international talent and employers to understand which initiatives should be prioritized. The existing digital matchmaking platform will be further developed for qualified matches between international talent and Swedish employers.

We also want to develop strategic soft transit programs in order to ensure the supply of skills in a broader perspective.
