Value tool for development of streets

Purpose and goal:

The project aims to strengthen Swedish municipalities´ ability to work with analysing social, economic and environmental values and effects in urban spaces. Increased understanding of Swedish municipalities´ needs in impact measurement

A prototype /analysis tool with associated methodological support that corresponds to municipalities´ needs for impact measurement and analysis of urban spaces Expected results and effects:

The project aims to contribute to a changed view of urban streets and public areas, where existing understanding of the impact of the design on transport flows is complemented by an equally good understanding of how other values are affected by different urban designs. The project is also expected in the long term to lead to a strengthened ability of municipalities to create a situational picture of how different values in the urban space relate to each other and based on the developed analysis support easier to translate knowledge into implementable solutions.

Approach and implementation:

Instead of a, detailed multi-year project plan, a more exploratory and step-by-step approach to the project is used. The project is built of different stages that are implemented step by step. After the completed step, the next step is specified. The following elements are the project´s main activities:
