Internationalization - Smart City Lab

Purpose and goal:

The project aims to be the coordinating actor that monitors, influences and lowers the threshold for municipal actors to participate in, contribute to and learn from international (mainly European) initiatives in IoT, the soft digital infrastructure, and value creation in the development of sustainable smart cities. The project will contribute to the dissemination of Swedish good examples internationally.

The overall goal is to stimulate interest in system transformation and innovation capacity for sustainable data management, as well as to put Sweden on the international map. Expected results and effects:

By learning from and being inspired by good European examples, Swedish municipalities can accelerate their development in data-driven innovation with a focus on IoT data. In addition, awareness that cities in other European cities are working on similar activities can increase the acceptance of working more data-driven. The project will also contribute to European guidelines, which in turn can affect future European policy development and research programmes to be more in line with Sweden´s development. This should benefit both Swedish cities and Swedish industry.

Approach and implementation:

The project, together with IoT Sweden, will build an organization and a communication channel for stakeholders in the "smart city", to better & more coordinated share information and latest news. This can be done through reporting in the form of newsletters, through specific seminars and conferences based on thematic content or through interviews distributed as podcasts.

The project will participate in international meetings and other events and monitor trends and channel "State of the art" to Swedish municipalities, primarily from the European organizations OASC and Living in EU.
