Alumni Network Vinnova Wallenberg Fellow

Purpose and goal:

I Palo Alto, Nordic Innovation House, is a collaboration to promote collaboration between the Nordics and Silicon Valley. The Wallenberg Foundation and Vinnova offer a scholarship program that enables a stay on site. The scholarships are aimed at those who want to develop their competence and understanding of this innovation system, and then contribute to the renewal and strengthening of the Swedish system.

This project aims to create a platform for an alumni network, for the purpose of long-term knowledge exchange, strengthening and renewal of the Swedish innovation system. The overall purpose of Vinnova Wallenberg Fellows is to create added value for the Swedish innovation system. Essential tasks during the stay are to build networks and knowledge. The alumni network means a platform that strengthens this opportunity and the ability to maintain and further develop the exchange of knowledge and skills, in order to ensure desirable effects in the Swedish ecosystem.

Approach and implementation:

The structure of the network is two annual network meetings, including an outreach activity (IVA seminar). Key words for the meetings are inspiration, international outlook and exchange of experience. Through the seminars, the alumni are spurred to continuously be activate in making a difference in the Swedish innovation system, as well as benefiting from, and collaborating with, each other.

External activities are of a trend-watching nature and involve international expertise. Internal activities are mainly network building for the exchange of experience.
