The purpose of this project is to observe clinical outcomes of using i) a minimally invasive surgical method (discoplasty) that suits the elderly patients and ii) a new soft and high viscous cement to fill the painful disc and provide pain relief and better quality of life.
The main goal is that both the new soft cement and the new surgical method should be ready for a major clinical study that will form the basis for CE and FDA approval. The business goal is to produce a market analysis including a report on the road-to-market. Expected results and effects: The expected effects of the project are several and can be divided into short-term and long-term:
Short-term results:
- The project will provide the first clinical evidence of both a new surgical method and a new material that can form the basis for a larger clinical study. With the help of the first patient data, it is possible to further finance the project with external investments. Long-term results:
