DigitCorr2 Further Digitalization in the Corrugated Board Value Chain

Purpose and goal:

Demonstrate how data-driven modelling, supported by measurements and data exchange among liner and corrugated board manufacturers improves resource efficiency. Expected results and effects:

Validation of novel and emerging measurement and ICT solutions provided by IndTech companies. Implementable results for reducing corrugated board waste. Interpretation of corrugating performance in terms of liner production data utilizable for improved liner grade selection and solution-as-services.

Approach and implementation:

A procedure are to be developed for the subdivision of liner product and process data, to populate a reel data structure from the liner mill perspective. A procedure are to be developed to trace occurrence of post-warp to the process condition of converting of the reels, to populate the reel data structure from the corrugator perspective. The outcome from data-driven modeling of post-warp that utilizes service-oriented data exchange related to the reel data structure is assessed for cooperative production adjustments to achieve resource savings.
