Field trials of graphene containing admixture for resource efficient, strong and frost resistant concrete

Purpose and goal:

The project intends to study and optimize the effect of two new admixtures for frost resistance, strength, durability and sustanability in concrete. Furthermore, scaling up for pilot-scale production of these admixtures will be included in the project, as well as evaluation of the full-scale additives together with relevant partners.

Expected results and effects:

We will develop and provide new technology to the Swedish concrete market. This technology will be primarily for nische applications with special needs but will potentially allow for cement savings. The new admixture will be tsted in a few applications and test reports will be presented. Approach and implementation:

Spring 2022: Project start-up, meetings with project partners, lab evaluations and recipe optimization, set-up of production unit in pilot scale

Summer and autumn 2022: Manufacture of additives in pilot scale, full-scale tests in various applications together with project partners. Winter 2022/2023: Further product development based on lessons learned from field trials. Production of additives.

Summer season 2023: Manufacture of additives in pilot scale, full-scale tests in various applications together with project partners.
