Purpose and goal:
The goal has been to pilot approaches and methods for internationalization and develop structures for continuous collaboration with national and other resources. Different approaches have been tested and processes developed via several activities, with companies and authorities. Regional and national initiatives and stakeholders at regional level have been connected in US activities.
A data-driven platform for recurring business intelligence reports for Swedish companies has been created. The pilot has used national and regional funding and policy tools, with next step. Expected results and effects:
Developed processes and working methods that gather resources regionally and nationally for strengthened Swedish international development and competitiveness, with authorities, actors and companies.
Plan for in-depth work in the US based on working methods in the pilot with activities in Californian ports; Midwest for demonstrators/deals, and developing new opportunities in 1-2 states/cities/year. A platform and report is created for recurring strategic analysis for business development. Learned financing lessons for co-financing and work within the ERDF.
Approach and implementation:
Focus on areas of strength requires a national perspective to identify companies and actors, while building on Swedish regional actors. Broad anchoring is important but challenging and takes time to identify actors and create an understanding, so one year is short. Through common networks and resources, several steps have been taken.
The area of electrification is in focus, so it is important to avoid overlap but utilize synergies when gathering different actors nationally. The project´s sub-projects have required a lot of coordination, but given several different working methods.
