Educational gardens for children with special needs

The project Curious about Nature - Educational gardens for children with special needs, aims to give children with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to discover and learn more about cultivation and biodiversity and at the same time create green invigorative schoolyards for year around learning.

The awareness in society has recently grown about how high-quality green environments affect children´s health and cognitive abilities.

The first step in this project will be to attract investors and advisors to further implement the concept at Årsta Gård in Stockholm.

In a later stage the concept will gradually scale up at schools for children with special needs around the country.The project is based on scientific research conducted at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).Where they have developed nature characters that create conditions for children´s health and cognitive development.

Throughout  this project, we will get the opportunity to put this research into practice.
