Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The project will manage validation funding for innovative project and ideas from KTH as well as for example SH, GIH and HHS. The goal is to finance and thereby validate and develop approx. 60-70 projects/year and make them prepared for more comprehensive commercial / technical verification and continued funding.

Expected results and effects:

VFT will improve funding opportunities and create a more efficient innovation process for early ideas. An increased number of projects (60-70) based on knowledge assets and IP from the university will be developed and verified in a structured manner, both technically and commercially. This lays the foundation for better equipped projects that have a lowered risk during further commercialization.

A number of companies that for example are developed via incubators are expected. Furthermore, agreements with customers and partners are expected, e.g. through agreements on IPR. Approach and implementation:

KTH Holding will, within the framework of the innovation office at KTH, handle funds within VFT and develop and verify projects. The management includes evaluation and selection, management and administration of externally purchased services for VFT funds, as well as follow-up of funded verification projects. Furthermore, the projects will be operationally supported continuously in the verification process.
