Purpose and goal: The purpose is to have another tool to support researchers and students from idea to commercialization. The expected result of the project is to maintain the steady influx of ideas from LiU will continue during the next VFT period. LiU Innovation comes into contact with over 100 new ideas annually and of these, the goal is that 40-50 per year should be developed to a degree of maturity of the nature that it is potentially possible to form a sustainable company based on the idea. This means that 40-50 new ideas undergo a professional market and customer verification using VFT funding.

We identify ideas in close proximity to LiU´s core business, the research groups and training programs. The innovation process involves, in addition to the idea owners and users, also a network of

incubators, science parks and funders. The advice results in action plans and 1 activities with the intention of validating a business hypothesis with respect to the acceptance of intended users.
