The chest X-ray (CXR) is an essential tool for diagnosis and early-stage screening of respiratory diseases.
However, two-thirds of the global population lacks access to any form of radiography, mainly due to commercial solutions being prohibitively expensive ($50-100k).
This inequitable access is a major barrier in eradicating long-standing infectious diseases on a global scale (e.g., tuberculosis (TB)) as well as increasing the preparedness of communities world-wide for future pandemics.
