AI driven development and optimization of metallic alloys

Purpose and goal:

Computational modelling is important for applications in metal alloy development, manufacturing and implementation. A recent development in materials modelling is machine learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) where the Swedish start-up Ferritico is having a strong position. The Ferritico AI based materials modelling services are requested by the Israel

Institute of Metals and their partners and the project aims at establishing relationships between the organizations and to plan commercial AI software development projects supporting Israelian industry. Expected results and effects:

Ferritico has initiated business operations in Israel for the sale of its AI software for simulation of steel. The project has initiated knowledge sharing in the use of AI for the development, manufacturing and implementation of steel and to make these processes less time and resource consuming by using AI-based simulations. Ferritico has trained IIM in its AI simulation methodology and enabled IIM to map the acquired AI knowledge to the needs of their industrial partners and to initiate AI simulation development projects with Ferritico.

Approach and implementation:

During the project, Ferritico has established a collaboration with Israeli Institute of Metals (IIM) for collaboration on sales, distribution and development of Ferritico AI software for simulation of steel properties and associated consulting services. Several meetings have been held with representatives from IIM´s management and business developers to discuss and design terms for the parties´ long-term cooperation and to short-term identify ongoing projects and customers in IIM´s network who have a need for Ferritico´s services.
