Digital portal for lifelong learning for Swedish universities

Purpose and goal:

The goal of the project is to identify requirements for a shared digital gateway for lifelong learning at higher education institutions in Sweden. The project has evaluated existing platforms and concludes that both LADOK and NyA meet the requirements for delivery according to the demands of higher education institutions and stakeholders, as well as the requirement for an operating and management model that works over time.

Expected results and effects:

The current systems lack elements for managing lifelong learning. Still, there are major benefits of building on already existing management systems. To make this possible, the dialogue must be strengthened, and the higher education institutions must improve their clarity in expressing demands.

To meet the identified needs, two projects are proposed; a sector internal project that ensures system support for the management of lifelong learning, and an innovation project with the aim of facilitating users to find education and improve the match between needs/education. Approach and implementation:

The project has followed the development of lifelong learning, conducted interviews with key actors, processed and analyzed material, developed solution proposals, gathered steering group, participating universities and stakeholders to the project (eg SUNET, LADOK, AF, SI, Skolverket, VR, SCB, MYh, UHR, Vinnova and Digg). As the work has progressed, the dialogue with LADOK, Sunet and UHR has deepened, resulting in a concluding dialogue with SUHF´s board that has provided important input for continued work but also legitimacy for the conclusions that the project has generated.
