Purpose and goal:
The purpose of the project is to identify the factors that enable or hinder agile cooperation between development teams of different organizational affiliations. An adaptive, rapidly changing development methodology is key to managing such a context. But the agile pursuit of short iterations and close feedback instead of an ex-ante-defined development plan cannot be applied without friction to relationships across organizational boundaries.
This is a significant practical challenge for the participating companies and at the same time a problem in need of empirical studies. Expected results and effects:
The aim is to develop a model that can describe the factors that enable and hinder agile interorganizational cooperation and, on the basis of this, formulate recommendations. Approach and implementation:
The project is planned over two years and is run by Halmstad University together with Chalmers and RISE, and in close collaboration with Aptiv and Ericsson. The project is based on case study logic where interviews and observations constitute the main data collection methods. Both companies have a long history of agile development where the next challenge is to get close collaborations with customers and suppliers to work according to the development methodology and process you want.
