Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

In line with the objective to increase understanding of the development of dynamic capabilities that contribute to successful digital transformation in healthcare, the following three questions have been focused: 1) What characterizes management and balancing practices and other dynamic capabilities that enable digital transformation? 2) How can new management and balancing practices be designed and implemented to enable expansive learning and dynamic capability development? 3) What constitutes a necessary presence of dynamic capability to enable digital transformation?

Expected results and effects:

The project identified tensions and paradoxes that arise in work with digital transformation and a certain fragmentation in the development of dynamic capabilities that connect to the organizational gaps that digitalisation entails. The results have influenced the development of a new organization for work with digitalisation as well as created a forum for dialogue between need owners regarding common challenges in work with the organization of digital transformation. Results have been disseminated through conference and journal articles and through Vitalismässan.

Approach and implementation: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **

The project has been carried out over a two-year period based on an interactive research approach between researchers at Mälardalen University and three stakeholders at Region Sörmland. Data has been collected on an ongoing basis through interviews with key persons from the various need owners, workshops with need owners and various forms of meeting observations.

The project has also carried out a number of co-production workshops with all stakeholders with the aim of contributing to joint knowledge building and feedback of results.
