Enzymatic degradation and recycling of polyethylene terephthalate

Purpose and goal:

Cyclezyme has successfully developed an enzymatic process for recycling PET plastic, which reduces climate impact and the need for new plastic production. By establishing an advanced laboratory and contacts with actors in several industries, we have increased the pace of development and demonstrated potential our technology. Discussions with potential customers are ongoing, and future pilot plants may lead to commercialization.

Participation in the REACH program during the course of the project has strengthened our business model and international presence. Expected results and effects:
