Purpose and goal:
EdiLog is currently the only company driving the development towards fossil-free logstackers. A hybrid was developed in 2018 and is now on the market with a number of customers in Sweden and Finland. This project is the next step towards fossil-free operation. The EdiLog plug-in hybrid makes it possible to work up to 2 hours with battery operation. This results in reduced operating costs and reduced emissions.
Expected results and effects:
The transition to batteries from supercapacitors enables an improved driver environment. In conventional logstackers, the diesel engine is used to both heat and cool the cab. The EdiLog plug-in hybrid makes it possible to achieve this with the help of the battery, which is a much more energy efficient solution than using a 240 kW diesel engine for the purpose.
This, together with the advantages in use, results in reduced operating costs and reduced emissions. Approach and implementation:
Data from the EdiLog logstackers that are in operation have been the basis for the component choices that have been made. Some of the components EdiLog chose are at the absolute forefront of development and created some problems with delayed deliveries and increased costs as a result. However, we have a very good collaboration with all suppliers, and they understand that what Edilog does is absolutely at the forefront of our industry.
This machine will be monitored in the same way with more than 500 points continuously streamed to our data storage for further analysis.
