Purpose and goal:
The objective is to demonstrate that a pulsed microwave low-noise amplifier (LNA) can operate with marginal penalty in gain and noise as compared to a static LNA used in present quantum information systems. The goal is to show that a pulsed LNA can operate under 10-microwatt power dissipation. Expected results and effects:
In this project, the parties will develop a unique concept based on pulsed amplifier technology in the readout of microwave qubits. By feedback of the electronics circuit, gain can be stabilized and power consumption minimized, i.e. the amplifier is smart. If the project is successful, we have a technology to reduce power consumption by 100 times compared to today´s industrial solution.
This would strengthen the participating Swedish SME´s position in an internationally growing market for quantum computers. Approach and implementation: WP1: Measurements on pulsed transistors WP2: Measurements of pulsed LNAs WP3: Design of smart bias supply WP4: Fabrication and integration of bias supply in pulsed LNA
WP5: Pulsed LNA testing in industrial cryogenic test bench
