To mark the 10-year anniversary of the Child Health and Parenting (CHAP) research group at Uppsala University, the research group will host a conference promoting the latest advancements in the field.
The vision is to share state-of-the-art knowledge in public health approaches to child health and parenting, to shape the next generation of society. International collaboration is fundamental to ensure research drives social advancement.
For this reason, keynote speakers from an international context will deliver lectures across the conference themes and set an ambitious tone for the event and future research efforts. The six themes of the conference are: (1) sustainable policy solutions to eliminate inequities in child health; (2) the economics of prevention and promotion in child and adolescent mental health services; (3) a public health approach to traumatic stress; (4) internet-based interventions for child and adolescent mental health; (5) a compassion-focused approach to parenting; and (6) supporting parenting across diverse families.
The themes will be presented by knowledgeable keynote speakers, discussed in dynamic panel discussions and practiced in interactive workshops. Two competitive poster sessions will also take place.
A multidisciplinary scientific approach will be adopted, with expertise across several fields including public health, psychiatry, and health economics. The conference will take place over three days in Uppsala, with hybrid elements such as pre-recorded and remote lectures and online participation possibilities.
It is organised by CHAP, partly in collaboration with the child health services (BHV) and with the participation of collaborative partners such as Children’s Rights in Society (BRIS), Skandia’s Ideas for Life Foundation and Sweden’s municipalities and regions (SKR). The conference targets researchers, students and prospective collaborators, with a special focus on BHV on day one.
Around 100 participants are anticipated each day.
