Rural safety and resilience

Purpose and goal:

The goal of the project has been to create and test a model for rural areas with a green energy solution with energy storage in hydrogen which in times of crisis contributes to maintaining service and security in rural areas. An organization called Lokal Resursgrupp (LRG) is people from the village who are prepared to deal with crises and who work locally in the event of a crisis. En LRG is a reinforcement of civil society and a complement to society´s ordinary resources.

Expected results and effects:

The outcome of our model has shown great interest and attention. The dissemination of the results has taken place through the networks Hela Sverige ska leva, Landsbygdsnävreket and Coompanion, Linnaeus University (LNU) and Region Kronoberg. The EU project Smart Rural27 gives access to a large network throughout the EU where we to be at the forefront.

The design and implementation of the project has been based on 5 different work packages with a number of different activities within each package. All work packages have been completed and followed up and reported continuously during the course of the project.

In matters of both crisis preparedness and energy supply, we have encountered obstacles, but both war preparedness and energy issues have become more relevant during the course of the project, which has made it both interesting and complex.
