DC Farmers

The aim of the project was to make use of resources. There were human resources in the form of unemployed people with varying work abilities and data centers that produced excess heat. Norrbotten´s low level of food self-sufficiency could be remedied to some extent by making use of these resources.

We today have trained people who are ready to take over the economic association that has been started when the business opportunities are good enough. In our handbook DC Farmers our first steps towards an ASF you can read more Expected results and effects:

The project would result in a business idea and a business plan, at least five people trained to run DC Farmers ASF and a manual.

people are trained and when the project ends we will have a group of 5 people ready to enter the financial association when there is opportunity for employment. An economic association as the basis for the ASF has been formed and a builder´s board has been appointed.

Our handbook describes our journey from the start of the project to where we stand today. Hopefully it can provide both inspiration and realistic expectations of what can be achieved in 21 months. Approach and implementation:

Our objective was to start an ASF, so from the beginning we have cocreated with the target group. The participant group has had a lower working capacity than we assumed when we wrote the application. This has meant that the work has occasionally limped.

Our participants have been very engaged and have contributed well. We had training at the beginning of the project. The participants who joined at the ending of the project have learned from the others.

A good training ahead of the upcoming business, where they will receive job training people. Working cross-sector has been very valuable.
