Purpose and goal:
The project designs concepts where the public and civil society jointly establish security points resource-efficiently and with a holistic view of needs in times of crisis with flowing energy sources as a basis. By utilizing the Church of Sweden´s large geographical spread and broadening its role as a crisis management center, from social crisis management to also being a safety point for water, electricity, heat and communication, the local community´s preparedness for climate-related and other disasters is strengthened on a national basis.
Expected results and effects:
The project is expected to result in concepts for both collaboration and technical design of security points, analyzes of climate risks and demonstration facilities. In the long term, more security points can be established with good geographical spread. Through broad approaches and cooperation between civil society, research and the public sector, these can be located in safe places and equipped based on demographics and the needs of the local community. The concepts have high scalability and are transferable to similar organizations.
Approach and implementation:
Divided into four work packages; needs analysis; geographical vulnerability analysis: concept development and demonstration as well as dissemination and upscaling. Based on civil society´s building resources, demographics and the geographical vulnerability analysis, the project´s parties identify suitable locations and their resource needs in the event of a crisis.
Demonstrations take place in three places where the division of responsibilities is investigated and determined. Acquired knowledge and experience spread via film and writing in each organization.
