Forum for Science Communication 2022

Purpose and goal:

The conference Forum for Science Communication was arranged on 15/11 2022 with the title "Science Communication in the Spotlight!" Nearly 500 people participated on site in Stockholm and online.

The programme included dialogues with input from the audience, parallell sessions, practical tips, networking opportunities and inspiration from Sweden and internationally. The "Dela med dig" award and Natur & Kulturs populärvetenskapliga pris were awarded. The day ended with an evening mingle. Expected results and effects:

The participants was offered a programme which included inspiration from Sweden and other countries and practical tips, and have had the opportunity to make new contacts. Particularly appreciated were the dialogues on stage between different roles - communicators, communication managers, researchers and journalists - and how these can work together to support researchers, communicate research-based knowledge and engage with the surrounding society.

Approach and implementation:

The new project organization was decided at the beginning of 2022, with a steering group consisting of the project´s financiers, a reference group and project management (VA (Public & Science). The steering group met on four occasions and the reference group had three meetings during the year with the project manager as convener.

The conference was conducted on November 15 and evaluated during December.
