The COVID-19 pandemic has provided a major obstacle to ongoing intervention-based therapy for people with dementia (PwD).
The pandemic has in fact served to exacerbate the already existing problem of providing sufficient support for those PwD who are, for the most part, housebound.
Assistive technologies, including digitized forms, could provide a means for supporting healthcare professionals, providing dedicated tools for diagnosis, cognitive and psychosocial intervention and general health monitoring. The need to provide tailored and provider-specific forms of digitized support for home-based care is pressing in light of the above and so the goal of this network is for strategic planning for the development of an appropriate methodological framework to best make use of digitized platforms for home-based cognitive and psychosocial interventions.
